  • Little Maythorn was a quiet country railway station, not a junction at all, but for Mike and his family at least it was a case of 'All Change' when his father took up the post of station master. The move meant a new school for Mike, new jobs for his elder brother and sister, new neighbours for Mam - and, for all of them, the tremendous change of living in a West Midland village after the bustle of a big industrial town.
