This final instalment shows Garibaldi at last achieving his dream of a united Italy, by way of compromise with the powerful republican Count Cavour. Red cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w plates plus 4 maps. xix and 390 pages including index plus 2 page publisher advert to rear.
Third impression. Spine faded and a little marked, shelf worn at head and tail. A few light marks to boards. Endpapers and text block browned. Neat inscription in ink to front endpaper. Foxing to margins.
