2nd edition, revised. A Survey of Limestone England from the Dorset Coast to Lincolnshire. Colour frontis. B/w photos. The Face of Britain Series. viii and 120 pages. Beige cloth boards lightly mottled. Foxing to text block, prelims and some pages. Price-cut Brian Cook dustwrapper is rubbed at corners, spine is browned with 1cm loss to top of spine and worn at base of spine, is lightly browned with minimal foxing.

H.J. Massingham
Harold John Massingham (25 March 1888 – 22 August 1952) was a prolific British writer on ruralism, matters to do with the countryside and agriculture. He was also a published poet. By 1932 Massingham began to write more and more on country life, and the first of a long series of such books, possibly his best-known, was Wold Without End (1932), reflecting his experiences living in Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds.
