THE WEYMOUTH HARBOUR TRAMWAY
by J.H. Lucking
Published by Oxford Publishing Co. 1st. 1986
Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Countless summer visitors, as well as passengers for the Channel Islands and France, have come to know Weymouth as 'the place where the trains run through the street'. This comprehensive study provides a full account, from arly unfulfilled proposals in the 1840s, through the line's horse-drawn bneginnings in the 1860s and long years of commercial importance, to the almost complete decline following the withdrawal of freight traffic in 1970. Large format. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos.
Top corners of boards bumped. Lower board edges browned and with red pen marks to corners and lower text block. Minor foxing to top edge of text block. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly faded to spine, tiny nick to top 1/3 of spine and corners rubbed.
