THE FLOWER CLASS CORVETTE AGASSIZ (ANATOMY OF THE SHIP)

by John McKay; John Harland

Published by Conway Maritime Press. 1st. 1993

Nearly fine condition in a nearly fine dustwrapper. This volume is devoted to one of the most famous and most nuerous of all escort vessels, the 'Flower' class corvette. The particular subject is the corvette Agassiz which was build in Vancouver and commissioned in January 1941. Of the short forecastle configuration she best represents the Canadian Flowers as they were when thrown into the thick of the bitter Atlantic convoy battles of 1941-42. A complete anatomy of the ship in words, photographs and drawings. Grey cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos and drawings. 160 pages.
