Light browning and foxing to text blocks and endpapers. Contents are generally clean. Binding is tight. Blue dustwrappers are a little edge-worn with a few small closed tears, spines are faded and worn, a little browned.

The author was commissioned as the official painter for the US Navy. Blue cloth boards, blue titles and vignette to front. 17 b/w drawings. xii and 48 pages. Boards a little grubby, lightly rubbed at edges, corners of boards bumped, white marks to top of rear board. Endpapers and text block browned, endpapers also grubby. Hinges pulled and a few minor margin marks present.
