UNUSUAL RAILWAYS
Published by Frederick Muller Ltd.. 1st. 1957
Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. From the earliest days of railways, inventors have exercised great ingenuity in devising special forms of proopulsion and track either to meet a particular need (such as to climb gradients beyond the unaided power of an ordinary locomotive), or in an attempt to reduce the cost of construction and operation of an orthodox railway. Some of the many systems devised are included here... Green cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w diagrams and photos.
Boards lightly bowed. Text block and endpapers browned. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is worn at edges with some slight loss, scuffed to rear panel, foxing to verso.
