The story of the First Age in Tolkien's world, the ancient drama to which characters in The Lord of the Rings look back, and in whose events some of them, such as Elrond and Galadriel, took part. This edition is Limited to 1750 Numbered copies bound by Smith Settle of Otley, Yorks in Wassa goatskin with hand-woven Indian silk sides. Calligraphy by John Andrew ARCA MCSD.
This is Copy No. 1114. Very slight imperfection in weave to front cover. On publishers page, it states that this is 4th printing, however, it is a 1st with this specific special binding and limited edition (4th of various Folio editions). Contained in a leather slip case in excellent condition - just lightest of wear to edges. Elaborate gilt titles and decorations to one side. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
