Marbled paper boards. 744 pages. 45 plates including 22 hand-coloured plates and several hundred engravings on wood and steel. Leather spine lightly faded. Covers lovely and bright. New endpapers. Plates IX, X and XI are placed out of order i.e. X, XI, IX. All plates are present. Some foxing and browning to contents including the un-coloured plates. Hand-coloured plates are lightly browned but mostly clean. A few grubby marks to last page of index and a minor chip to lower edge of same. A lovely copy considering the age of the book.
