Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. On leaving her commercial college seventeen-year-old Helen Brierley finally accepts a job as secretary to an unknown great-aunt, Mrs. Rossett Somerton, who lives at The Amber House, Rye.... Beige boards, red title to spine. 192 pages.
Bumping to top and tail of spine and a couple of corners. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Foxing to endpapers, outer page edges and some page margins. Wrapper is faded to spine, with some edge-creasing and chipping. 1" square piece of loss across top edge of front panel, has been 'repaired' with yellow tape.
