Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. The fourth story about Juliet Buckingham, her young brother Simon, and their friend Charles Renislau, the son of a famous violinist. Set in London. Blue boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations.

Light fading to horizontal edges of boards. Top edge of text block browned. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with a couple of closed tears, grubby to rear panel.

  • The Palace in the story is an old house on the edge of Hampstead Heath, in which the three young people stay with their Uncle whilst the artist owner is abroad. They soon find a clue which suggests that the house may contain treasure hidden by a highwayman, but they encounter an old enemy - and two new ones - who are also hot on the trail. Simon finds the treasure but he and Juliet and Charles have some exciting and frightening experiences before they are able to restore it to its rightful owner.
