Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. In eighteenth-century England, James Gibbs was perhaps the most successful and prolific architect of his generation. This book is a cogent and fully documented record of Gibbs's career and architectural achievement. Large format. Brown cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations. vi and 362 pages including index.

Base of spine and corners lightly rubbed. Diagonal crease to prelims. Title page is a little grubby with imprinting of ink from facing frontis. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is worn at corners and is scuffed, remains of label to lower edge of rear panel.
