Almost very good condition. Three-quarters burgundy leather (spine & corners), boards are dark burgundy cloth. All edges mottled red. xlv and 542 pages.
Leather spine is rubbed and faded. Boards scuffed. Leather corners worn at edges. Rear board has fading to lower third. Bookplate for 'Jas Jones H.M. Customs, London' and dated 1873 in ink has been unsuccessfully removed from front pastedown. Relevant newspaper cuttings glued to front endpapers and prelims as well as some annotation. Name in ink to title page. Title page has surface paper damage to top margin with small closed tear. Some foxing throughout and a few grubby marks. Binding is tight.
