  • The whole of the cliff face had collapsed over the mouth of the cave, sealing the entrance and burying the Spanish Galleon from sight. For nearly two hundred years the cave kept its secret - until the discovery of some ancient gold coins early in the nineteenth century led to the search for the lost treasure ship. The Rector was interested for archaeological reasons only - or so he said. There were the two boys, Dewi and Peter, eager for adventure - there were Patchy David and his followers hovered near the cliff which guarded the foreign gold and there was a gang of smugglers led by a dangerous criminal, a brilliant master-mind whose identity was unknown.
