Being a history of great contests in which the British nation has been engaged from the time of William the Conqueror to the accession of King Edward VII., with a descriptive account of the battles and of their influence on the Empire and the growth of our vast Colonial possessions, told by a series of pictures painted specially by Henri Dupray. Large oblong format. Three quarter burgundy leather binding, raised bands to spine. Gilt title to front. B/w line drawings to text. Tipped in b/w plates.
Leather binding rubbed, worn at edges and marked. Cloth boards heavily mottled and marked. Endpapers and text block browned, a few marks to endpapers. Name in ink to verso of front blank page. Page edge browning and a few minor margin marks. One or two foxspots present. Generally a nice copy internally.
