Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Large format. Purple cloth with white titles and blue decorations. 8 tipped-in colour plates and other plates throughout book are by Messel, who provided the costume designs for the MGM film Romeo and Juliet in 1936. The film was directed by George Cukor and starred Norma Shearer and Leslie Howard.
Spine is browned; couple of cover edges are faded. A few marks to covers. Light foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. A few light margin marks. Wrapper is browned, especially to spine; edge-creased with chips and nicks; a few grubby marks.
