Limited to 1,000 numbered copies, a facsimile of the definitive 1927 J M Dent edition. Bound in full Nigerian goatskin, gold blocked with the design of the 1927 edition. Printed on specially made paper with hand-made end papers and gilding on three edges. 624 pages, 11.75 inches x 9 inches. Includes a separate booklet with an essay by Professor Anthony S G Edwards. This is copy 212 of 1000. A beautiful set contained in publisher's solander case which has a couple of minor bumps to edges.
The First Version of Edward Fitzgerald. Small, slim format. Red cloth with gilt and silver floral decoration. Blue endpapers. Illustrated with colour miniatures from a manuscript dated 911ah. Front cover is very slightly warped. Light musty smell to contents. Contained in a gold card solander case with a red title-label on front which is slightly edge rubbed.
Minimal bumping to corners, tiny brown spot to rear edge of spine. Contents fine. Slipcase is edge rubbed and slightly foxed on top and bottom edges. Minimal rubbing to spine and corners. Slight rubbing to slipcase edges and some light foxing to top and bottom of slipcase.
Grey cloth covers, red title label and gilt title to spine. Red endpapers. Full page b/w illustrations. Top edge red. Slight fading to spine and some slight damp marking to covers. Foxing to text block. Slipcase is edge worn and split to spine edge, the book seems a little big for the slipcase (the spine protudes slightly) but it is believed to the be original case.

Selected and edited by David Stanbury. Colour pictorial boards. Colour illustrations. Covers are slightly edge rubbed. Brown slipcase is edge rubbed and slightly faded.
