Green cloth with gilt titles and vignettes. Plates are mounted on thick card with paper guards. No text. Copy no: 10. Spine and corners bumped with wear. Some foxing and a few small marks to covers. Front joint cracked, rear joint starting to crack. Light corner crease to both endpapers, title page and signature page. Some foxing and browning to contents. Foxing to first plate and just a couple of fox spots to second plate.

SIGNED by Thomson. This is copy no. 148. Bumping to spine and corners. Covers are grubby and rear cover has a couple of marks. Creasing to front endpaper and prelims including mount and tissue guard for frontis but plate itself is not affected. Browning to endpapers. Some light page browning. Light foxing mostly to prelims and page edges and some fingering. One page and last tissue guard creased. Plates all present and in very good condition.

Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Browning to endpapers tissue guards and some pages internally. Some foxing mainly to page edges and a little fingering otherwise contents are clean. Corner creases to six plates, the others are fine. Tissue guards are loose and creased.

Brown offsetting to some pages - where plates are tipped in. Some light foxing mainly to page edges. One plate creased. Slight bend to last plate and mount corresponding with crease on opposite page. Plates are otherwise fine. Tissue guards very lightly browned and one is creased at the corner.

Foreword by Walter de la Mare. White cloth spine, grey paper boards, onlay of titles. 11.5 x 9". A little bumping and wear to spine and corners. Two small bumps to top edge and nick to bottom edges of covers. Endpapers browned. Light browning to page edges and a little foxing to text block. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn, creased and torn with some loss from ends of spine and folds. Grubby, spine and folds browned. Some tape repairs on verso.
