Poor condition.
The tenth book in the regular series of Mr. Gibson's published drawings. Mr. Gibson's best cartoons from Life Publishing Company 1904 & 1905, and Collier's Weekly 1904 & 1905. Very large oblong format. White cloth spine, white paper boards with illustration by the artist to front. Boards have bevelled edges. B/w cartoons throughout. Unpaginated. Boards marked and stained. Spine browned, cloth fraying to rear edge. Edges of boards worn with surface paper loss. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Front joint pulled wide exposing webbing between front endpaper and half-title page, also rear hinge pulled with some surface paper damage to gutter. Binding is generally tight. Endpapers are grubby and marked. A few marks to contents. Some page edges worn.

The text is from the 1676 edition, the fifth and last to be revised by the author, but the spelling is modernised since it is meant primarily to be read rather than admired as a 'period piece'. Green cloth with gilt titles and vignette to front and spine. Green pictorial endpapers. 12 colour plates plus b/w text illustrations. 223 pages. ISBN: 0245528687. A lovely copy. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn across the top front panel, faded to spine and lightly scuffed.
