Red cloth with gilt title to spine and vignette to front cover. Spine is browned with chipping and fraying to cloth at top and tail. Corners are worn with some bumping. Small part of a newspaper cutting stuck to front pastedown. Foxing and browning to endpapers and outer page edges. A few margin marks. Some page edge nicks. Contents are generally still very good.

Blue boards. Volume II front cover and prelim pages are almost detached, some other pages are loose, where stitching is starting to come undone. Marks and heavy bumping and wear to cover edges. Some foxing and browning. Possibly good candidate for rebinding! At the moment, a reading set only.
