Very good condition in a good dustwrapper.
The story of a great family of councillors, governors, sportsmen and soldiers. Introduction by Sitwell. Blue cloth boards, gilt titles. B/w illustrations. Second impression. Some foxing present, mainly to endpapers and text block. Pictorial dustwrapper is heavily faded and edge-rubbed. Musty odour present.

Contains January 1895-December 1895 plus a supplement to rear. Three-quarters leather binding, blue cloth boards. Marbled endpapers and text block. B/w illustrations. Leather spine and corners worn with loss. Family name 'Holmes' in gilt to front board. Front joint is broken and front board is hanging on by one last cord. A few scattered foxspots but contents generally clean and tight.

Front joint broken, front cover hanging on by the binding cords. A few minor foxspots else contents are generally clean and tight.
