Almost very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
The practical side of carving in stone and marble. A geeneral essay on carving and a warning of its many pitfalls, a list of stones (giving colour, texture, consistency, etc), and a chapter on tools. Grey cloth boards, red title to spine. B/w photos and diagrams. 96 pages including index. Boards mottled by damp. Endpapers browned. Tiny nick to front joint. Contents clean. Cream dustwrapper is a little grubby and browned, a few small stains to spine, a few small chips to corners.

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
The Leoni edition appeared in 1726, 1739 and 1755. This is a complete reprint of the Ten Books on Architecture from the 1755 edition, with the addition of the 'Life' from the 1739 edition. Translated into English by James Leoni, Venetian Architect. Edited by Joserph Rykwert. Blue cloth boards, gilt titles. xx and 256 pages plus LXVIII frontis and b/w illustrations to rear. Top & tail of spine lightly shelf-worn. Boards clean. Tape marks to endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate to front endpaper. Browning to endpapers and text block. Else contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge-worn with a few small tears & chips, faded to spine, scuffed and lightly creased.
