The Douce Apocalypse, an illuminated luxury manuscript, was made for prince Edward, later Edward I, and his wife Eleanor of Castile in 1270. This volume conveys both the beauty of the original illuminated manuscript and the enduring fascination of its contents. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Colour illustrations. ISBN: 9781851243600. A lovely copy. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly scuffed to rear panel.
