Very good condition in a good dustwrapper. Mumfie returns home to find terrible things happening. Mummy Jumbo's house had been burnt down; Uncle Samuel was kidnapped and there were "lurkings"... Red cloth spine, pictorial boards. Bright pink and blue full-page pictures plus b/w drawings. 190 pages. 8.5 x 5.5 inches.

Spine bumped, corners worn. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Endpapers lightly browned and some light foxing. Dustwrapper is grubby and edge-worn with slight loss to spine and tape repairs on verso. Uncommon in dustwrapper.

  • Mumfie has been on various adventures setting off without saying goodbye to his parents . This book tells of Mumfie's return home with Scarecrow. But at home terrible things were happening. Mummy Jumbo's house had been burnt down; Uncle Samuel (the most eccentric gentleman) was kidnapped by a mysterious Secret League; there were giant footprints in the flower beds and there were "Lurkings"
