Fine condition. Limited Edition Cased Set, special numbered edition of 100 sets to commemorate the centenary of the first publication in 1910. Small format book with cream cloth and silver titles. 56 numbered pages, all edges gilt. With explanatory leaflet giving a brief biography of Beatrix Potter and the history of the publication of The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse. Contained in a brown hinged box with silver title and hexagon onlay to front. Also includes a brown leather foil-blocked bookmark.
It is unlikely the book has ever been opened (still very tightly bound). Presentation box protected by a white cardboard slip band and still contained in original packaging box (with ltd edn details label to front), 'cotton' (referring to cloth binding) has been written in blue biro to top. This is copy no. 59. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
