Green cloth gilt title to spine, embossed title to front cover. B/w illustrations. 359 pages. Spine slightly bumped. Neat inscription in ink to front fly-leaf. Dustwrapper has a tiny nick to top of spine.

Front cover is slightly grubby and there is a slight blue biro(?) mark to rear cover. Foxing throughout. Some fingermarks to page margins.

Green cloth gilt title to spine, embossed title to front cover. B/w illustrations. 359 pages. Uneven browning to covers. Corners and spine are bumped and worn, with some chipping; nick to side of spine. Front joint next to half-title page is cracked. Some foxing - mostly to outer page edges. Contents are still very good.
Arthur Ransome
Arthur Michell Ransome (18 January 1884 – 3 June 1967) was an English author and journalist. He is best known for writing the Swallows and Amazons series of children's books about the school-holiday adventures of children, mostly in the Lake District and the Norfolk Broads. The books remain popular and Swallows and Amazons is the basis for a tourist industry around Windermere and Coniston Water, the two lakes Ransome adapted as his fictional North Country lake.
