THE TWILIGHT OF INDIA'S WILD LIFE
Published by John Baker. 1st. 1969
Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. The wild life panorama in India in the years after WWII has changed so drastically as to become unrecognisable. Gone are the vast, unbroken stretches of forest and tropical jungle, and with them the teeming animals. Only a fraction of both remains. The author gives a personal perceptive account of the background to this change, traces its disastrous course, and describes the perilous state that has been reached. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine and publisher's vignette to front. B/w photos. 212 pages including index.
Text block and endpapers lightly browned. Front boards is slightly bowed. Contents clean. Yellow pictorial dustwrapper is a little grubby, edge-rubbed and scuffed.
