THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF ROBINSON CRUSOE AND SERIOUS REFLECTIONS OF ROBINSON CRUSOE
by Daniel Defoe
Published by J. Walter. 1790
Very good condition. "A selection from the works of Daniel Defoe in Three Volumes". Printed at the logographic press. Each volume bound in mottled calf with gilt titles and bands to spines. 367,331 and 408 pages. 2 b/w plates each to volumes 1 & 2.
Corners of each volume are worn and edges are rubbed. There is a small nick to the edge of volume 3. The endpapers have been professionally replaced in each volume. The front and rear joints of volume 1 are cracked. There is light foxing/page browning to each volume and a few small marks to pages 336-337 of volume 1 but otherwise the contents are clean. The bindings are nice and tight and I wonder if the books have been re-sewn? It is a very professional job if so. A very nice set in excellent condition for their age!
