- Who was Adrienne Desmoines? She seemed to have no relations at all when Soeur Marie-Cecile rescued her from unhappy circumstances. Her parents were dead and she seemed to have no living relatives. Soeur Marie-Cecile (formerly Robin Humphries) applied to the Chalet School and her adopted sister Joey Maynard. Joey gave Adrienne her scholarship and she went to the Chalet School.
- From sheer gratitude she worked hard but, unfortunately the results of her work and her excellent brain brought her a bitter enemy. An accident occurred in which she and her rival were badly burnt and an understanding came between them Best of all that same accident robbed her of her long pigtails and the curls which grew afterwards helped solve the greatest mystery of all - who was Adrienne?
