Blue cloth with black titles. Front cover shows girl playing tennis. Colour frontis + 2 b/w plates. 312 pages + booklist to rear. Spine bumped, worn and browned, vignette rubbed. A little wear to corners. Covers slightly grubby with marks to top of rear cover alongside spine and brown spot to bottom edge. Front cover slightly bowed. Rear joint and a few hinges cracked. Pages 145/146 and 156/160 partially detached. Prize plate, small bookseller's label and ink name stamp to front endpapers. Pencil ticks to titles in publication list at back of book. Contents generally clean. A little foxing and browning, mainly to endpapers. Plates present.

The earlier of Oxenham's two historical novels, Mistress Nancibel is named as an ancestress in a number of books which have faint connections with the Abbey. Blue cloth with gilt titles and colour illustrations to front and spine. 352 pages plus 16 page booklist to rear. 6 colour plates. Spine bumped, worn and a little darkened. Bumping and wear to corners especially top corner of front cover. Rubbing to pictures on front and spine. Covers slightly grubby. A couple of hinges cracked but binding is firm. Presentation inscription to verso of front endpaper. Damage to bottom corner of rear endpaper. Some foxing and an odd mark to contents. All plates present.

Cellophane wrapper is edge worn with tear to middle of spine. Several indent marks to panels. Tape marks to flaps. Contained in a light grey slipcase which is a little edge worn with some foxing to spine.

Some foxing and fingering.
