- Mr. Goon produces a nephew, Ern, a simple youth who believes everything. The Find-Outers think up a first-class mystery for Ern, complete with clues - and old Clear-Orf the policeman soon hears of it and gets into a terrible muddle trying to solve it.
- In the meantime a real mystery come along and the Find-Outers quietly work on it whilst poor Mr. Goon and Ern stumble along in their imaginary one.
