Spine bumped. Endpapers partly browned. Foxing to textblock. There are a LOT of marks to the contents (annotations), both in pencil and biro. Page browning. Initials in red biro to rear free-endpaper. Dustwrapper is worn with some slight loss, name in biro to front panel and some writing to front flap.

  • Mr. Goon feels very puzzled indeed. Who is sending him the strange messages that pop up all over the place? Why is the messenger never seen? What's all this about a house called The Ivies which doesn't exist? Mr. Goon thinks Fatty is playing a joke on him and that is how the Five Find-Outers learn about the queer little mystery - that leads to yet another, bigger mystery - which opens up a more curious one still! A Mystery made up of mysteries - even Fatty is so puzzled that he almost gives up.
  • Ern, Mr, Goon's nephew is back and driving his uncle mad. He is Fatty's staunch admirer and loyal friend who comes to his rescue in a most spectacular and comical manner - and the mystery is suddenly solved in a way that nobody could possible guess.
