Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Oblong format. Pictorial boards. Colour illustrations. Winner of the Arts Council Award for the best children's book 1966-1968. A mysterious folk tale from our early history.
SIGNED by author on title page. A little bumping and wear to spine and corners. Small sheet of paper stuck by one edge to front endpaper. A couple of small grubby marks to explanatory page at end of book, rest of contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn and creased with tear to base of spine, repaired on verso with clear tape. Slight loss from front panel alongside top of spine. Small patch of surface paper damage to front panel by end of title. Spine slightly browned.
