Good condition. Text adapted for nursery readers by Lewis Carroll. Grey cloth spine, pictorial front board. Containing 20 enlarged and coloured versions of Tenniel illustrations, with a cover painted by E. Gertrude Thompson and printed by Edmund Evans, the leading Victorian colour printer. A delightful introduction for the very young to one of the most celebrated characters in children's literature.
Boards and spine browned, boards scratched. Edges rubbed, corners worn. Front endpaper is MISSING also giving rise to 2" x 1" loss to the front pastedown at spine edged, cloth mull is exposed at front joint. Grubby marks to contents. Tissue guard to frontis is foxed. Hinges pulled but binding otherwise tight. A good reading copy.
