The tenth Lone Pine book. A London adventure for the Lone Piners.... not so strange, because London is an adventurous place, especially for people to whom - like the Lone Piners - "things happen". All the same, if Jon hadn't gone to a football match on a foggy afternoon.... if Penny hadn't wanted to buy a glass paperweight in an antique shop in Chelsea....
In this story the Mortons - David and the twins Dickie and Mary - are joined by Jon and Penny Warrender, from Rye. They make a new friend in Harriet Sparrow, who soon acclimatizes herself to the fantastic goings - on of the Lone Piners and proves herself of great assistance in this adventure where they clash again with their old enemies, Miss Ballinger and Slinky Grandon. And of course Macbeth, the Scottie lends his valuable aid.
