Contents

  • This is a vivid, fast-moving story of an unusual adventure on the Grand Union Canal. Michael and Mary Bishop make friends with Vicky, the small but plucky daughter of a delightful couple who pilot a pair of the romantic 'painted boats' from London to Birmingham. They are invited to make the trip with the Whites and only three hours after the Flower of Brentford has chuffed its way out of the great lock at Brentford, they are drawn into a remarkable adventure. Once again Mike's courage and Mary's loyalty carry them through and they are able to help the police and their new friends as well.
