Almost very good condition in a fair dustwrapper. The Jillies expected a lovely peaceful holiday in the Austrian mountains, but it was anything but a peaceful holiday. Green cloth, silver titles. Green endpapers are maps. Colour frontis, b/w illustrations.

Covers a lightly mottled. Small piece of blue sticky paper to front pastedown. Couple of hinges cracked. Some pages roughly trimmed at top. A little light foxing to page edges otherwise contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn with some areas of loss to panels and bottom of spine. Tears to spine mended with stick tape which is browned and brittle. Rear panel is grubby.

  • Mandy, - with of course, Prue, Tim and J.D. - was looking forward to a tranquil holiday spent in the Austrian mountains with Lisbeth, her pen friend. But tranquillity and the Jillies are two things that cannot seem to go together, and almost form the beginning they found themselves in the midst of a typical "Jillies' adventure. It started with the mystery about Lisbeth's father: where was he and was he even alive at all? Then there was the threatening attitude of the odious Adolf - not much doubt about him being the enemy. But Miss Nicholls and Herr Stargrun and Johann and the wounded pheasant - were these friends or foes? And as the questions answered themselves, the Jillies realised that this was no minor domestic trouble that they were mixed up in, but a titanic battle for freedom against a ruthless and bestial tyranny.
