A fascinating study of the wood-pigeon, the least studied of British birds. Dr. Murton reveals the particularly long life span of the wood-pigeon, 14 years, and also reveals that wood-pigeons are unique among bird life in that they lactate, with their young being fed entirely on milk for the first few days of life.
Light fading to spine; bump to base of spine. Name in ink to front endpaper. Wrapper is browned to spine, with a couple of small nicks to corners.
