Small format. Brown cloth boards, gilt titles. Fold-out map to front. 127 pages including index plus local advertisements to rear. 1888 to title page but adverts to rear are dated 1896-97. Boards lightly rubbed at edges. Text block browned. Light browning to contents and a few minor foxspots present.

In two parts, South and North. With map and plan. Spine and corners bumped and scuffed. Inscription to front endpaper. Folding map for South region is creased, with tear at edge but no loss. Map for North Devon has a large tear but no loss. A couple of internal hinges are pulled. Endpapers browned.
