Contents

  • Robert G. Chesterfield was something of a crank and when he sent money from the United States to build a new hospital in England he made his gift in the form of bars of gold. But when the boat express reached London the bullion had vanished.
  • Chief Superintendent Branxome of Scotland Yard was put in charge of the investigation. But it was his daughter Jill who came upon the real clue when she and her brothers were aboard the family's boat, Dabchick, bound for France. They shadowed a mysterious craft among the harbours of Normandy and up the Seine towards Paris.
