Very good condition in a slightly better than good dustwrapper. Red boards, black titles. Colour frontis and b/w illustrations. 182 pages.

Spine and corners bumped. Corners a little rubbed. Small bump to side of front board. Covers a bit grubby. Small label (for British Sailors' Society) on half title page. A little foxing and fingering otherwise contents are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn and creased with some small tears.Tape to verso of front fold with marks also showing on front. Verso is browned with some foxing. Wrapper is grubby. Wrapper has been covered with clear plastic laminate on both sides.

  • Biggles is asked to deliver 500,000 tons of rubber by Air Commodore Raymond. It is, to be taken from Elephant Island, in east Asia to India, as it is vital to the British war effort. A Chinese man called Li Chi brings details of the rubber to the attention of the RAF.
  • The Japanese soon find the base on Elephant Island and plan to attack, but Biggles counter attacks
