Almost very good condition. A Treatise on the Training or Management of British Timber Trees; whether intended for use, ornament, or shelter: including an explanation of the causes of their general diseases and defects, with the means of prevention, and remedies where practicable:- also, an exmanination of the properties of English Fir Timber; with remarks on the defects of the old, and the outlines of a new system for the management of Oak Woods. Three-quarters red leather binding, 5 raised bands to spine, gilt title on green title block to spine. Marbled boards, endpapers and text block. 8 b/w plates including frontis. 277 pages.
Light rubbing to edges of leather, spine lightly browned, boards lightly scuffed. Front joint just starting to crack. Frontispiece has been cut out (trimmed around outline of The Woburn Beech) and stuck down on to plate. Some browning and foxing to contents, heavy to prelims and first few pages. Overall, a decent copy.
