Brown textured cloth, gilt title to spine. 13 beautiful chromolithograph plates. B/w text illustrations. Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Spine slightly faded. Tiny bookworm holes to rear side of spine and also tiny worn patch to rear cover. Very neat inscription in ink to front endpaper. Light page browning and some fingermarks to page margins.

Inscription in ink (dated 1873) to front endpaper. Appears to have been rebound as there is no title-page, the book starts at the Contents page and then page 11 (which is the end of the ABC). Grubby marks to first few pages. A couple of pages have tape repairs. Contents generally clean.
