Page edges foxed. Small bookworm holes to top margin of a couple of pages. Wrapper has loss to all edges and is grubby.

Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Page browning to endpapers and grey mounts for plates. Foxing to contents. Tiny corner crease to plate opposite page 16. Small repaired tear to plate opposite page 41. Scarce dustwrapper is in several pieces (torn at spine) and has sections of loss to edges. Wrapper is browned.
