A US pirated Peter Rabbit story. Altemus' Peter Rabbit Series. Red cloth spine with black title, purple boards with colour onlay to front cover. Spine slightly bumped and faded. Corners bumped and worn. Some fading to cover edges. Name in pencil in belongs to box on front free-endpaper. Some grubby fingermarks to page margins and some slight foxing to textblock.

Very good condition in a good dustwrapper.
American Edition with New York address to title-page. Blue paper boards with green titles and oval onlay to front cover. The text on pg15 still carries the misprint of "muffatees". Spine very slightly bumped and browned. A couple of hinges are slightly pulled. Name and date in ink to half title-page. Contained in a very scarce, original glassine wrapper which is a little frayed at edges with a few small chips and slight loss. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Tan boards with brown titles and pictorial onlay to front cover. Colour frontis and half-title page + 12 colour plates - one for each month of the year. Book measures 5" x 3.75". Covers are edge worn, spine has been professionally reinforced. Covers a bit grubby at edges. Front free-endpaper is lightly creased. Contents are clean. A nice copy of a scarce item. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Some grubby fingermarks to contents. A couple of pages have been browned at top margins. Dustwrapper is worn, torn, creased and grubby, slight loss to top and tail of spine but very minimal loss at edges.

It all came about because Mrs. Rufus Rabbit (Peter Rabbit's Ma) had suddenly become very strict about the comings and goings of Peter Rabit, Molly Cottontail and Flopsy and Mopsy. Pale green pictorial boards. Illustrated endpapers. Full-page colour and b/w text illustrations throughout, illustrated endpapers. Spine and corners worn. Some light marks to top edge of front cover. Title-strip is split and lightly damp stained. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Pale page browning. Tear to lower margin of one of the colour illustrations. Rear free-endpaper is torn with loss at top edge.

Very good condition in a good dustwrapper.
Deluxe edition with original gilt decorated grey cloth, oval pictorial onlay to front cover. Colour frontis and 26 illustrations. All edges gilt. 84 numbered pages. Light fingering to the contents but still bright and clean. Spine slightly bumped with slight rubbing to spine and corners. Cloth is beautifully bright having been protected by original printed glassine wrapper which is chipped and torn in places, with archival tape repair to rear panel, large tears to spine and corners. Printed 1/6 net at base of wrapper spine and Timmy Tiptoes is the last title listed on the wrapper. Published between 1911 and 1919 (Timmy Tiptoes published in 1911 and Warne went Ltd in 1919). A very nice copy of a deluxe edition with an exceptionally scarce glassine wrapper.
