Edmund Gosse has brought together this collection of Swinburne's poems which are concerned with infancy. Rackham's delicate and romantic illustrations are a perfect complement to the text. 8 colour plates plus b/w text decorations. Dark green cloth with gilt titles and vignette to front cover. Green/white decorated endpapers. 133pp. cr 4to. Spine and corners bumped and a little worn. Gilt on the spine is dulled. Light scuffing to rear board. Writing in pencil to top of front pastedown. Rear endpaper has horizontal crease. Foxing throughout otherwise contents generally clean. Plates are bright.

There is foxing to the contents (which affects the b/w plates but not the colour ones) but otherwise this is a lovely, bright copy. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
