Prize presentation inscription to verso of endpaper. Some small tears at inner margin. Page edges browned. A few light foxspots mainly to endpapers.

Spine bumped, worn and faded with small splits to top and bottom. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Some scratches to covers. Both joints and some hinges cracked. Front endpaper partially detached. A little surface paper damage to front endpaper where a list had been stuck. Page browning and some foxing plus some marks to contents, including a co A few small tears to margins. One plate is creased.

A piece of white paper has been stuck to the front free-endpaper (covering previous inscription perhaps?). Some grubby fingermarks to page margins.
