Slightly better than good condition.
19th Year of Publication. Cloth spine. Pictorial front cover shows a fisherman and 2 children looking out to sea. 6 colour plates and b/w text illustrations. Story by Fenn is Our Soldier Boy. Spine bumped, worn and faded with small splits to top and bottom. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Some scratches to covers. Both joints and some hinges cracked. Front endpaper partially detached. A little surface paper damage to front endpaper where a list had been stuck. Page browning and some foxing plus some marks to contents, including a co A few small tears to margins. One plate is creased.

Green cloth with gilt titles to front and spine and pictorial onlay to front. Full page colour illustrations and b/w illustrations throughout. First story 'When daddy's ship came home' by L.L.Weedon. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Some marks to covers. Half of pictorial onlay on front missing. Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Rear joint and some hinges beginning to crack. A few tears to inner margins and a couple to page edges. Foxing and some marks to contents.

Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. There is some slight wrinkling of cloth to rear cover. Frontis has been re-inserted in the incorrect place (before half-title) and is slightly edge-chipped. Light page browning to contents.

Spine and corners bumped and slightly rubbed. Some light wrinkles in cloth covers. Name and address in ink to front pastedown, date in crayon to endpaper. Front joint is just starting to crack. Some light fingering and page browning to margins else contents clean.
