Spine appears to have been repaired (maybe reglued) to base of spine; original splits show, with some fading. Corners are bumped. Fading to cover edges. Light foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. A few page margin marks. Wrapper is edge-torn and chipped, with 1-2" MISSING to base of spine; smaller piece of loss along top edge of rear panel.

Pictorial onlays to front covers. SIGNED by author with dedication to previous owner to first volume of set. Bottom 1" of spine to first volume has splitting with some fraying of cloth. Some other nicks and chips to spine, with varying degrees of fading. Couple of covers are a bit bowed with some marks. Corners are worn, with some chipping. Foxing and browning to endpapers and outer page edges. Some margin marks to pages. Closed tear (repaired with magic tape) to one front endpaper.

One pop-up scene is edge creased, with corner repair. Scattered foxing.
