Very good condition.
The author was a surgeon and member of the Company of Surgeons. Includes Annual Oration to the council and fellows of the Medical Society of London dated 1813; and A Letter on the Evil Effects of Abesenteeism; being an answer to Hastings Elwin Esq dated 1829. A Dissertation on the Universe in General is dated 1795. Green leather spine and corners, gilt title to spine. Marbled paper sides and red speckled text block. Not illustrated. Edges of boards rubbed, leather spine & corners rubbed. Top half of marbled front board faded. Free endpapers heavily browned. One or two foxspots and some pencil annotation else remarkably clean for it's age. 'A Letter...' has top diagonal corner torn away from title page (not affecting text) and page behind the loss is browned in the same area.

Very good condition.
The anonymous coninuation by Ellis Cornelia Knight of Samuel Johnson's Rasselas (1759). Re-bound in three quarter tan calf leather, raised bands to spine, red title label with gilt title to spine. Marbled paper boards. Vertical and lower edge of text block untrimmed. xii and 356 pages. Modern binding is beautifully clean, bright and tight. New endpapers. Some minor foxing to the contents. Browning to text block and page edges. Overall a decent copy for a text of 240+ years old.
