Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. The Sutton Hoo ship-burial, excavated near Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1939, is the most important single archaeological discovery every made in the British Isles. This is the second volume only in a series of four which present the definitive account of the discovery. Large format. B/w photos and drawings, a few colour photos. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine, deer vignette to front. A large, heavy volume.
A few marks to boards. Foxing to endpapers and prelims. Otherwise contents clean. Blue dustwrapper is edge-worn, torn and scuffed but with no loss.
