BRITISH WILD FLOWERS
Illustrated by John E. Sowerby
Published by John Van Voorst. Circa. 1863
Almost very good condition. Green cloth. All edges gilt. Gilt titles. Re-issue: to which is now added a supplement containing 180 figures of lately discovered flowering plants by John W. Salter and the ferns, horsetails, and club-mosses by John Sowerby. Hand-coloured plates.
It appears that the spine has been at some time repaired and strengthened; couple of small old splits to spine are still showing. White tape to joints, from repair. Bookplate to front endpaper. All plates are present. Some plates have foxing to edges, but most are just browned. Foxing to some page margins.
